The 12 Keys Rehab is proud to provide the addiction treatment and psychiatry services of Medical Director Dr. Victor A. Balta. Dr. Balta, who has worked in the alcoholism addiction and psychiatric treatment fields for more than 20 years, developed the unique 12 Keys “real recovery” approach to client care.
A 25-year veteran of the substance abuse field, Clinical Director Loretta Lukic specializes in providing the utmost in personalized, compassionate clinical care for recovering alcoholics and addicts. Educational Background Loretta earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees before becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Loretta is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a powerful psychotherapy technique that helps clients suffering from a variety of emotional problems; research demonstrates EMDR is an effective treatment for problems including panic disorder, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder and other emotional issues. In addition, Loretta has for 10 years reviewed drug treatment programs across the country as an approved surveyor for CARF, the Commission on Accreditation Rehabilitation Facilities. Her academic achievements include co-publishing an article in the Marriage and Family Therapy Journal that addresses the family dynamics of substance abuse and her approach to client care often includes family members, who are themselves struggling to heal.
Keith Gillen, a Certified Addiction Counselor and Ordained Pastor, is uniquely positioned to help clients recover from the grip of substance abuse because he is a recovered addict himself. Keith provides the healing 12 Keys Rehab client with a holistic, spiritual approach to a real, life-affirming recovery through the rediscovery of hope, love and inner peace.

As a certified addiction counselor Janie gained her personal experience of sober living through hours of sitting in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous. Through both AA and Al-Anon meetings, Janie’s story and unique gentle nature has enabled her to successfully facilitate treatment groups and one-on-one sessions with alcoholic and addicts who suffer from self-esteem and trust issues to substance and personal abuse. With over 6 years of continuous sobriety, Janie’s proven ability to connect with suffering alcoholics and addicts allows her to provide clients with the necessary tools to enjoy personal freedom in recovery. She is dedicated to help clients out of the grips of addiction and show them how to maintain long term sobriety.
Sheryl Kliemisch MA CAP has thirteen years of experience in the field of addictions and mental health. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts. Sheryl utilizes Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral therapy with clients and has a special training in Women’s Treatment specifically “Seeking Safety” curriculum.
